SSCD or mono dies

Mikrotek manufactures synthetic single crystal diamond dies (SSCD), or mono-diamond dies in the 0.015mm – 1.500mm range.
The company’s SSCD dies are widely used to draw stainless steel, copper, aluminum, EDM, tungsten, molybdenum, gold, silver and alloy wires.

The SSCD crystals are procured from Element 6 and Sumitomo. These manufacturers supply the crystals with pre-ground 111 plane orientation and different levels of thickness.

The SSCD blanks have high thermal conductivity and high thermal stability and ensure a good surface finish of the wire. The 111 plane orientation ensures long die-life due to exceptional wear resistance.
