An assessment of the first Fastener Fair in Italy
September 28 and 29 were two intense days for the operators of the fastener and fixings industry that met for the first Fastener Fair Italy.
It was the episode number one for the Italian edition of the successful series of worldwide exhibitions organized by Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd dedicated to the fasteners and fastening systems. These include Fastener Fair India, Fastener Fair Mexico, Fastener Fair Turkey and the main international event Fastener Fair Stuttgart.
A total of 2,600 managers, engineers and buyers from a wide range of industries crowded the North Wing Level Zero of MiCo - Milano Congressi, among the largest congress centers in Europe. The organizers inform about the numbers: The majority of visitors were Italian, 36% came from other 58 countries. Many of the guests came from Germany, the United Kingdom, but also from the Balkans, some from India. Of those attending, 39% were distributors or suppliers of fastener products to users, 32% were fasteners or fixings manufacturers, 25% were wholesalers or suppliers to resellers, and 16% were fastener or fixings users. In all, 170 companies from 13 different countries took part as exhibitors.
Adding a further important dimension to Fastener Fair Italy was a parallel programme of free seminars.
A positive experience for exhibitors
Fastener Fair Italy organisers Mack Brooks received very positive feedback from exhibitors. Exhibition Director Olivia Griscelli says: “Exhibitors and visitors warmly welcomed this event, confirming its potential for generating new business, highlighting the latest product developments and most importantly creating valuable opportunities for face-to-face contact.”
According to Fastdev's CEO Aldo Cereda: "Being a first edition, no one expected such a success, and who had doubts had to change his mind. From our side, we had even more requests than in Stuttgart. Our flagship product Easyprod 4.0, the production management software specific for the world of fasteners, had a considerable success, and was presented at the fair by many famous names in process monitoring such as BRANKAMP/Marposs and Schwer+Kopka, as well as promoted by some customers as Defremm. We are very satisfied."
Arrivederci - See you in 2018
Fastener Fair Italy will return to the MiCo in Milan in September 2018, with dates to be announced. This time the exhibition will occupy the larger South Hall at the venue, providing space for the event to expand.
