Doing business in Italy, Germany and Turkey. The Italian wire machinery association starts a comparative study
The Italian wire and cable machinery and products industry is undergoing a period of severe difficulties, as proven by many companies, even “historical” ones, which are finding themselves striving to hold their position under the pressure of global competition. It's not an internationalisation problem - generally more than 80% of the incomes are from foreign markets – instead it's more likely to be a competitiveness issue of the whole country.
In order to obtain a general overview, and concrete data on the subject, ACIMAF (Italian Wire Machinery Manufacturers Association) commissioned “The European House – Ambrosetti” the realisation of an analytic study on the structural factors that penalise Italian companies in relation to their main competitors, using as counterpart German businesses. To complete the study, the Turkish industry will be taken into consideration too, being Turkey an increasingly emerging reality in this branch. Labour costs, tax pressure, bureaucratisation and energy costs will be some of the considered parameters. Relationships with banks, credit insurance, easiness to obtaine a visa and logistical aspects will be part of the analysis too. All of this tailored to suit the wire and cable market.
The European House – Ambrosetti has earned in recent years a deep know-how on these subjects, particularly regarding international scenarios, business strategies and practical approaches.
The results of the study will be presented in a report to the association members during a meeting that will be held at the beginning of spring 2015, to which press agencies and competent authorities will be invited.
We will be glad to keep you informed on the next updates.
