Italian wire machinery association: how it went in China and India
In late September and early October two important events for Italian companies operating in the wire and cable industry were held in Shanghai and Mumbai: wire China and WIRE & CABLE India. We asked Ferruccio Bellina, president of the Italian wire machinery association ACIMAF, to give us a picture of the two trade shows.
"Both wire China and WIRE & CABLE India were two good fairs for Italian companies," replied Bellina, "The event in Shanghai has reached considerable proportions. With 30,000 square meters of exhibition it has become the most important one after the fair in Düsseldorf, able to attract the attention of operators from all over the Eastern countries."
It is a difficult market for Italian companies. "This is true, and every year more you notice the enormous development of Asian companies," adds Bellina. "However, our machines are still attractive."
What about India? "In Mumbai there was a good turnout, and a good organization of ICE (Ed: Italian Institute for Foreign Trade). In comparison to previous editions, it is a growing fair with a fair potential for Italian companies."
