Brushing is an operation complementary to mechanical descaling that allows to remove any residual mill scale from the wire. After breaking the mill scale with the descaling machine, high-speed rotating brushes will remove any residuals from the wire. OMF’s intuition was to combine high-speed rotating brushes with an orbital rotation around the wire. This ensures the wire is clean thoroughly and uniformly, without any scratch or damages. The brushing dust is then filtered by a filtration system connected to the brush.
