ECMR Series – mono and co-extrusion starting from Ø 30 mm

Eurotek Srl, a leader in the production of extrusion heads for over 30 years, provides thermoplastic extrusion heads with front/rear manual centering, ECMR series.

The ECMR series is designed to process wire diameters up to 420 mm supporting both mono-extrusion for single layer production and co-extrusion for a single layer with an additional stripe or outer skin.

The ECMR series models operate with manual centering from the head's front using regulation screws.

Technical features

Heating is performed using electrical band heaters.

The distance between the wire guide and the die is adjusted using the “gum space” process: in the MB and CB versions, the die moves axially from the front of the head through the adjusting ring, whereas in the MBT and CBT versions, the tip holder (sleeve) moves axially from the rear, and the die moves from the front of the head.

The ECMR extrusion heads can be used for coating, insulation, sheathing, jacketing, and filler processes and can work with the following compounds: PVC, PE, MDPE, HDPE, LLDPE, PP, XLPE (Sioplas-Visico), PU, TPE, PUR/TPU, XLPE FR, HFFR, XL HFFR, PVC FR, and fillers (HFFR, PVC, EPDM). In addition to the most common materials, the head allows the processing of high-viscosity compounds.

The ECMR extrusion heads are made of high-quality stainless steel with a surface treatment to ensure excellent material flow and reduced wear. Upon request, a special hardening coating treatment up to 2200 HV can be applied. They can also be equipped with both standard and custom-made dies, available in stainless steel with heat treatments or steel with a tungsten carbide insert for increased strength and durability. These include wire guides, compression and semi-compression dies, tube and semi-tube, as well as special dies for low-pressure, low-adherence operations, and other specific requirements.
