Boxy: reels for high speed wire drawing and stranding machines

Boxy reels with solid flanges are turned all over on drum, inner and outer flange, central hub and bore and are very specific for metallic, enamelled and capillary wires.

The available sizes are as per DIN 46397 specifications or as indicated by the customer, for a normal use up to 1400 mm of flange diameter. This special type of reels is designed to withstand annealing treatments and is dynamically balanced for speeds up to 60 m/s. It is particularly suitable for high speed processing on wire drawing or stranding machines.

On request, Boxy can also provide: extra stiffened drum, replaceable hardened bushings, painting, turning of a lift slot in the flanges, wire accumulator on the outer flange, engraving of progressive numbering, tare and customer's logo. 

Established in 1969, Boxy produces steel reels for wires, ropes and cables, either according to customers' specifications or DIN standards.
