Drawing tools/Drawing cones, rings and capstan

n
Guide safely and draw professionally.

Drawing wires involves expending a great deal of energy to create a super-fine, uniform product that demonstrates the same physical properties at all points. This requires a reproducible process. This in turn is highly dependent on the equipment used, such as drawing cones, drawing rings and drawing capstans, as the end product will only remain perfect if these components can also ensure the same levels of friction and resistance over a long period of operating time.

HOFMANN CERAMIC also offers all additional ceramic components needed for wire or thread guidance. They are wear-resistant, have good anti-frictional properties and are acid and heat resistant.

The abrasive effect of wires can have far-reaching consequences. This demands the highest quality possible, for every time a replace- ment is required, it also means production is halted. According to specific requirements, we can make drawing tools for you from various materials. In addition to fully ceramic tools, we can also offer ceramic and metallic coated components. All of this is available at very good terms and in small runs.

Material:
HCZ 95 zirconium oxide ceramic is a high-tech product for any wire quality. Long service life – acid resistant – the ceramic rings can be exchanged for composite constructions – surface quality < 0.1 µm Ra, repeated regrinding possible.

Special steel with ceramic coating is suitable for drawing fine and very fine copper and aluminium wire. Structure is of special steel, coated with HCC 93 – aluminium oxide ceramic or HCC 94 chromium oxide ceramic – long service life – non-conductive – surface quality < 0.2 µm Ra – repeated regrinding possible.

HCM 96 special steel with hard metal coating, suitable for drawing copper, aluminium, brass, bronze and nickel wires as well as speciality wires – from rough to fine grade. Wear-reducing special coating, thickness 0.6 – 1.0 mm – coating hardness between 55 and 61 HRc – resistant to impacts – surface quality of up to 0.15 µm Ra – repeated regrinding possible.

HCS 98 fully hardened steel, suitable for drawing aluminium, steel cord, steel and precious metal wires. Steel is hardened to 64 – 65 HRc (+/-1) – resistant to impact and thermal shock – surface quality < 0.10 µm Ra on request – repeated regrinding possible
