Programmable annealing with Strecker's new V30 controller
As many expometals readers probably know, annealing is a type of heat treatment that changes the microstructure of a material in order to achieve better mechanical properties. Among other things, annealing can be applied in case of electrical resistance butt welding of hardening steels, since it has been observed that soft annealing can reduce the separations of cementite or pearlite, securing the required material properties for the subsequent production processes.
Manual operation is possible, but of course, having a program-controlled annealing process can provide more repeatable annealing and welding results.
The well-known butt welding equipment specialist AUGUST STRECKER GmbH & Co. KG is pleased to present its latest technology in the field: the last generation of the programmable control "V30 smart", the successor of the former control V20.
Simple and intuitive, V30 smart is equipped with a large 7" color screen. A rotary push button ensures optimum and repeatable welding and annealing results on high-carbon steel and special alloys. Optionally there is pyrometer annealing with max. 5 segments and graphical display of target-actual temperature curves. The new V30 unit is fully compatible with previous models and can be easily installed in existing welding machines.
