Cometo: straightening, cutting, and marking TIG welding rods has never been easier
In today’s article we introduce the MTF20, one of the most recent and innovative patents by Cometo. We are talking about a latest generation machine for cutting and marking aluminum, bronze, copper, stainless steel, and carbon steel TIG welding rods.
This innovative piece of equipment is perfect to process materials with Ø 1.2 mm, 1.6 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.4 mm, 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.0 mm and allows to mark both ends of the rod at 914 mm or 1000 mm fixed length (adjustable through a special touch screen placed on an encoder). Depending on the material and diameter, the MTF20 can output 80 1000-mm pieces per minute — the products are then conveyed to a special cradle thanks to the IM60 binding system. When the desired weight is reached, the system packs the rods together to form a bundle: this operation allows to streamline the subsequent logistic phases.
Here are some technical features:
- adjustable pressure of the feed rollers and encoder roller;
- 63HRC hardened steel or plastic coated feed rollers;
- 63HRC hardened steel encoder roller;
- carbide guides;
- 63HRC hardened steel blades;
- position indicators for the quick adjustment of the wire straighteners;
- modular configuration for quick machine set up;
- fix jig for a constant check of rod straightness and length;
- average noise value of the machine in operation: 79 dB;
- IM60 rod binding system.
