3C Catene to introduce two new quality checks

3C Catene has recently introduced two new types of sample checks to increase process control: the working load test and the coating thickness measurement.

Thanks to these new checks, the company will be able to deliver even more quality consistency, thus meeting the standards of a market that has become increasingly demanding in terms of product performance.

Working load test
Even though the chains manufactured by 3C Catene are not subject to lifting and traction, the recommended working load is still reported in the catalog for each type of article. This way, the customers have at hand yet another functional parameter, besides the surface finish and the link size, to choose the chain that best suits their field of application.

Thanks to the dynamometer, it’s possible to check whether the working load of the specific chain currently under inspection matches the specifications reported in the catalog, without plastic deformation of the single links. The working load limit (which indicates the maximum load the chain can withstand before plastic deformation and breakage) is also carefully checked in order to gather further information for the production process.


Coating thickness measurement
The minimum thickness of the electrolytic zinc plating is reported in the catalog, but in case of special requests, 3C Catene can open a specific quality plan to achieve a thicker coating. The actual values are then checked by sample with the thickness gauge to ensure they match the expectations.
