Inserts for thermoplastic and thermosetting materials

These are inserts made of brass, stainless steel, and aluminum. They can be applied to both hard, medium, soft, and amorphous thermoplastics, as well as thermosetting plastics such as polyester and more. Installation is by press, direct heat, ultrasounds, or screwing, and can be in-mold or post-mold. They create a solid internal thread having thermal and electrical conductivity.

Direct heat installation
It is necessary to ensure that the insert softens without melting the plastic, preventing the formation of burr formation around the top of the insert.

Ultrasonic installation
Ideal with low amplitude vibrations and sufficient power to soften the plastic. It is critical to avoid exerting excessive downward pressure that can lead to deformation.

Press installation
A press exerts constant perpendicular force by pushing the insert into the material. The
sharp knurls cut the mounting material fasteners reducing stress, a feature that is especially useful on brittle thermosetting materials.
