EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability to Lederer

Lederer GmbH, a specialist in the field of high-quality, stainless steel fasteners, has a deep knowledge of the industry world and assigns great importance to sustainability. Thanks to its environment-friendly practices, the German company has received the silver medal from EcoVadis, the provider of sustainability rankings.

“We take our responsibility as a company for our impact on society, the environment, and the well-being of our employees very seriously. […] So far, our focus has been on the price, availability, and quality of the products, but now ecological, ethical and social aspects are becoming more and more important,” explains Dr. Volker Lederer, owner and managing director.

The goal for 2023 is to reach the gold medal, missed by only 3 points on the 64 achieved in the sustainability assessment.

Just to name a few actions operated by the company in the sustainability framework, two years ago Lederer switched to a provider of pure, certified green electricity; last year it began the conversion of vehicles to hybrid and electric drives, supplying its own charging stations with electricity from renewable energies; furthermore, 500 trees were planted for a reforestation project.
