Industry 4.0, Mecavit’s smart factory

Mecavit Srl, an expert manufacturer of industrial fasteners, has made major technology investments to maximize flexibility and efficiency, focusing also on its R&D department. The pieces of equipment already in the corporate machine shop have been fitted out with the most modern innovations offered by specialized companies, paving the way for the digital transformation. These updates allow monitoring production in real time, since each step is linked to a bar code and all the pertaining information is uploaded to the company network. Using the data collected in this way, efficiency statistics are processed to determine industrial costs in a simpler and more precise way.
Manual picking management systems with double weight control also help to keep tabs on the warehouses.

Such investments have also allowed to complete a significant expansion project: Mecavit has recently inaugurated a new covered area of about 1000 square meters dedicated to the treatment of wire rod.
