Mecavit, an Italy-based renowned screw manufacturer, has kicked off the new year with a significant sustainability initiative: the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of its production unit.

A green step toward energy autonomy

The system, with a total power of 742.1 kWp covering the entire roof surface, was meticulously designed to meet current regulations, ensuring compliance and safety. Given the variety of materials and exposure angles, a personalized approach was necessary to optimize efficiency.

After installation, the system was seamlessly integrated into Mecavit's electrical framework, partially fulfilling the company's annual energy requirements. European Community estimates suggest it will produce around 742,000 kWh/year, with careful management and regular maintenance ensuring optimal performance.

Emission reduction is the key

The environmental benefits of this initiative are substantial: Mecavit aims to cut CO2 emissions by an impressive 723,450 tons annually. This reduction is equivalent to various emission-saving measures, including the CO2 savings from over 9,820 km of passenger air travel, the preservation of more than 10,135 trees, and the avoidance of CO2 emissions from over 1,582,571 km traveled by car.
