Introducing Karters, new Autonomous Mobile Robots by Weighpack
If you are a professional working in the field of fasteners, you have certainly heard of Weighpack International. The Dutch company is a true expert when it comes to fully-integrated customized packing lines for screws, bolts, and small metal parts.
The extensive knowledge of logistic processes, acquired over 40 years of activity, recently led the company to develop a brand-new line of products, Karter AMRs.
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) are the evolution of Automatically Guided Vehicles (AGV) and Automatically Guided Carts (AGC): compared to their forerunners, they feature a much more advanced navigation and automation technology that allows them to move without the need for wires, reflective markers, magnetic strips, or continuous commands from the control system. Once they are taught where to pick and drop the parts, they generate and follow the most direct path, using cameras and sensors to detect and avoid obstacles.
AMRs can follow fixed routes, working as a flexible alternative to conveyors, but also collect and deliver loads on request, optimizing intralogistic operations. They can safely operate in tight spaces, as well as in industrial environments with people and machinery.
The currently available AMR models boast a maximum load capacity of 1500 kg.
In the near future, new configurations with fixed and lifting platforms will be launched on the market.
The units are built at the Weighpack factory in The Hague, The Netherlands, and marketed by a subsidiary company, Karter. For more information, videos, and technical data, please visit the new website: karter.nl.
