If you are in the coil manufacturing industry, it would be helpful to equip your line with a de-banding machine. Also known as de-strapper, it is an automatic band removal robot for removing circumferential and radial steel straps from cold coils.



A special head duly designed by Itipack is mounted on a robot to automatically detect, cut, and remove the strap from the coil and take it to the chopper unit. With this robotic system, you can even:

- measure the width of each single coil;
- detect the position of the tail of the coil and give the signal to rotate it in safe position;
- read the position and the numbers of the straps.

What about the removed strap?
As previously mentioned, the chopper is used to cut down the straps into pieces approx. 8-9 cm long. The chopped material falls down into the scrap box and is placed underneath the de-banding station.


Last but not least, the coil marker: if you want to tag or mark your coils with a QR or bar code, this is what you need. The company’s product can be provided with different configurations and models. You can see it in action in this video:
