Pre-coatings for drawing processes

Coatings must be diluted in water at approx. 80-90°C. The wire will be immersed in the bath to obtain a higher temperature, in order to ensure the creation of crystals on the surface during the drying process. The created crystals shall improve the lubricant pick-up, for better lubrication within the die.

Functions of the coating for higher efficiency of the drawing process:

- Coverage of the defects on the wire surface
- ensure a homogenous roughness of the wire, which provides a higher lubrication;
- provides an additional layer for lubrication while drawing, for higher die life and to enable higher drawing speeds.
