A scoring system for eco-designed lubricants
Supporting customers and partners towards responsible performances, combining social and environmental issues, is one of Condat's main goals.
The France-based lubricant specialist has been one of the forerunners to developing industrial lubricants and other specialty products with reduced environmental impact, without compromising their performance or the safety of users. It is not by chance that the company launched its first biodegradable lubricants 20 years ago.
A major step further in its CSR policy took place in 2018 as Condat joined the international ECOVADIS platform, which annually assesses the CSR performance according to four criteria: environment, HR and human rights, business ethics, responsible purchasing policy.
For 2020, CONDAT has been awarded Silver level by ECOVADIS, an achievement that places CONDAT among the best companies in the lubricants sector.
A self-scoring system for eco-designed lubricants and products
In 2020, CONDAT established an innovative self-rating system called Lubriscore®, that weights the product properties according to the impact on people and the environment. Using a scoring system based on twenty questions and answers, Lubriscore® assigns the product from 1 to 3 stars.
The Lubriscore® rating is available for a wide range of lubricants, including metalworking fluids, wire drawing soaps, cold heading oils, hydraulic oils, die lubricants, cooling lubricants, hardening/quenching fluids, and maintenance lubricants.
A 2-stars cold heading oil: EXTRUGLISS A 68 G
For the cold heading process, Condat's EXTRUGLISS A 68 G vegetable-based oil has been awarded a 2 stars Lubriscore®. This cold heading oil ensures lower mist and smokes, and is free of chlorine, besides having a reduced impact on the environment and providing operators with a good workplace. EXTRUGLISS A 68 G is also highly performant: it improves productivity and tool life, and provides superior lubrication properties. Being a vegetable-based oil, this product does not contain mineral-based oil, thus avoiding tax due for import in many regions (such as UTIF for Italy).
