An improved crosshead for loose tube cable production

Rosendahl Nextrom developed the RX 5 crosshead for fiber optic cable applications. Provided with linear guiding, the RX 5 crosshead is optimized for secondary coating lines - both for dry and jelly-filled. It is comprised of a fine-tuning centering unit and a jelly unit for bubble-free jelly filling. In order to obtain the maximum precision during the extrusion process, RX 5 has customized and adjusted needle supports. The loose tube industry requires more and more small-sized products with thinner wall thickness. With a wall thickness of 0.15 to 0.3 mm, the RX 5 crosshead meets the targets with precision. Even at geared line speeds of up to 1000m/min, the product keeps its shape and required properties.
