Rosendahl Nextrom's portfolio for wire and cable producers on display
Cable and wire producers continuously face the challenge of balancing quality, productivity, and sustainability. From 25-28 September 2024, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (booth E1A51), Rosendahl Nextrom is set to offer a comprehensive range of new and improved solutions designed to meet these challenges head-on.
Increasing production capacity in datacom and telecom:
As the demand for high-speed data infrastructures grows, Rosendahl Nextrom has made significant strides in research and development. The company has installed the world's most advanced laboratory lines for LAN cables and loose tubes at their in-house technology center. These lines are optimized for high-speed production and come equipped with features that reduce scrap, enhance quality control, and improve automation.
The rise of AI applications has increased the need for supercomputers, which require cables with ultra-low data latency and ultra-high bandwidths. Rosendahl’s high-temperature physical foaming lines are capable of manufacturing cables that meet these demanding specifications, playing a crucial role in the development of next-generation supercomputing.
Nextrom has also made advancements in preform manufacturing by integrating Vapor Axial Deposition (VAD) and Outside Vapor Deposition (OVD) technologies. These innovations enable the production of large-sized preforms with minimal operational costs. Additionally, the telecom fiber drawing process has been optimized to achieve speeds of up to 3,500 m/min, significantly enhancing productivity.
Recent developments in fiber optical cable manufacturing include a high-speed fiber launching system, a high-speed rewinding line, and a proof testing and fiber coloring line with automated reel changes. These innovations focus on reducing operating time and waste while increasing overall productivity, quality, and safety for operators.
Accelerating energy transition:
In response to the industry's shift towards sustainable energy, Rosendahl Nextrom offers solutions that cater to the production of cables for renewable energy sources. Their versatile production lines can form, weld, and jacket flexible materials for connecting wind farms, photovoltaic installations, and offshore projects to the power grid. These lines can produce both smooth and corrugated high-voltage cables using aluminum, copper, or stainless-steel tapes.
The automotive industry is also undergoing a transformation as batteries become the primary energy source for modern vehicles. Rosendahl Nextrom’s solutions for the Cable & Wire sector include innovations for busbar insulation, high-end charging cables, and high-performance data cables, addressing the evolving needs of vehicle wiring systems.
Innovating smart and responsibly:
Rosendahl Nextrom emphasizes sustainability and efficiency in their production processes. Their advanced line control systems offer extensive options for continuous improvement in material use, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. The company’s commitment to the green transition is evident in their ESG-compliant measurement of CO2 and energy consumption. An AI-based process control further enhances the stability and quality of datacom cable production.
Nextrom is also pioneering sustainable practices in telecom fiber drawing. Their Helium Recovery System can recover up to 90% of used helium, significantly reducing dependency on this scarce resource. With current helium prices and availability constraints, the system’s return on investment can be realized within a year. Additionally, the Nextrom Induction Furnace offers substantial energy savings, aligning with the industry's move toward more sustainable operations.
Offering lifetime support:
Rosendahl Nextrom is dedicated to providing long-term support to cable and wire producers worldwide. Their local team in China, in collaboration with the headquarters, ensures swift and efficient service across the region. Customers can benefit from first-class support throughout the entire lifecycle of their machines. To enhance ongoing collaboration, Rosendahl Nextrom has launched a digital customer portal and improved their warehouse infrastructure. New service packages further complement their offerings, ensuring comprehensive support.
