SETIC & POURTIER: details on the deal with SAMP and GAUDER & Co.
SETIC s.a.s. is a France-based company operating in the wire and cable industry. Known worldwide as a leading supplier specializing in high-speed rotating machines design and manufacture, the company owns a broad portfolio of brands running in synergy: among them, POURTIER, C2S and BOW Technology.
A recent press release informs that the notorious company SAMP has reached an agreement to sell 45% of the stakes in SETIC to GAUDER & Co. As part of the transaction, SETIC will transfer some of its POURTIER low and medium voltage business to SAMP S.r.l. The latter will have exclusivity rights to produce and sell POURTIER designed machines for low and medium voltage applications under the SAMP POURTIER brand.
The relationship between the two companies is clarified by the deal, which will ensure products and services continuity for each brand’s international customers. ‘This is a big step for both of our companies. It allows each firm to better serve its clients without losing any of the benefits of our complimentary offers,’ declared Jouni Heinonen, SAMP chairman.
Thierry Collard, SETIC/Gauder & Co. CEO, affirmed: ‘The acquisition allows SETIC to focus on its core business and implement appropriate strategies and developments for each product range. It strengthens our global leadership in the production of equipment for data, industrial Ethernet, communication and automotive cables for the benefit of all stakeholders. The reorganization of the POURTIER portfolio will also allow SETIC to offer POURTIER equipment for overhead, high and very high voltage cables.’
SETIC and Pourtier will continue the previous cooperation, based on which SETIC supplies POURTIER high-speed concentric stranders, single twist machines, and rigid stranders. Similarly, C2S - the service division of Setic - will keep developing modern services for equipment of both above-mentioned companies.
SAMP will continue to be a valid support for SETIC’s made-in-China machines production, since they are manufactured in SAMP’s facilities in Changzhou under the supervision of French engineers from SETIC.
SETIC’s sales markets will also spread thanks to a cooperation with SAMP on selected markets, like South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Balkans.
