Automatic blade handling and tooling robots

n

FASPAR designs and manufactures highly-customizable and innovative robotic solutions for blades and tooling storage. These are particularly suitable for single slitting lines (or multiple lines) thanks to several patents and proprietary software.

Two different robotic solutions are available in order to meet all customer's requirements: tower and tunnel type.

The robotic system for automatic handling of cutting tools is equipped with a single or double magnetic sliding tool that can operate on tools having between 1 and 100 mm thicknesses. Furthermore, the company is also able to supply a patented system to automatically assess the blade’s quality and detect the cracks and breaks, discarding unsuitable tools. More specifically, thanks to a laser system/reader equipped on the robot head and customized software and camera control, this system can ensure that the blades comply with parameters set in the cutting program. All the tools must be marked with QR matrix codes, which enable the blade's traceability and durability.

The robotic system is provided with a highly-customizable software, which autonomously performs the cutting configuration and selects the combination of the most suitable tools based on the mechanical characteristics of the mother coil, the availability, and types of tools in the warehouse. Furthermore, the software displays reports and blades classification carried out by the automatic control system.

An ultrasonic washing machine for tools cleaning and degreasing can be fully integrated into the robotics system. This may be particularly useful for eliminating traces of mineral oils, deposited zinc, and calamine dust. Afterward, all the tools are dried automatically and can be immediately placed inside the storage warehouse.
