The future of leveling is now!

The future of leveling is now!

Friday, September 13 – FIMI Group was invited to Tata Steel Netherlands for the presentation of the new leveling and cut-to-length line built for the Tata plant in Feijen.

The corporate team illustrated the special features of this line that represents the culmination of all the best technical solutions developed by FIMI over the years, leveraging the experience gained over time on different projects.

"Indeed, there is no other line as complete as this one among those designed in the last 10 years. It represents the highest standard for each individual machine, serving as a prime example of FIMI’s expertise. Thanks to the trust placed in us, we were able to guide the customer with our know-how and experience. We made no compromises in the line's design, presenting what we believe—aligned with FIMI’s philosophy—to be the ideal system configuration. In some cases, we even introduced technical enhancements to specific equipment to further optimize performance."

Changes introduced in this regard:

- implemented hydraulic sliding couplings (so far only tested on another line for processing completely different materials);
- developed own debander;
- optimized software and machine adjustment functions to make the set-up as automated as possible;
- supplied a new hydraulic power pack, developed with a novel concept for power consumption and noise optimization.

These are just some of the numerous improvements that make this plant the benchmark for leveling and cut-to-length lines on the market and that will enable Tata Steel Netherlands to achieve its goals.

Mr. Stig Eriksen, Managing Director of Feijen commented: "With the commissioning of the new line, we are able to process steel sheets faster and of higher quality. This represents a huge improvement in the reliability of deliveries to customers. The project began two years ago, involving our customers to ensure we would be able to address both their current and future needs. This resulted in the current design with unique capabilities. Our supplier FIMI has also done an excellent job.”
