Slitting and trimming lines for metal sheets and strips

n

FIMI slitting and trimming lines combine high production capacity with perfect surface quality thanks to a series of specially designed devices. These lines employ a non-friction tensioning system (NFTS®) to maintain uniform tension for all the slits obtained after the slitting operations. They can process up to 800 m/min of material, with a thickness range of 0.03 mm - 20 mm, and strip width range of 200 mm - 2200 mm, up to 45 Ton weight.

The range is divided as follows.

Lines for automotive applications
Engineered to meet the requirements of the automotive industry in terms of surface quality and cutting precision. The most common material thickness for steels and aluminum alloys (including high strength grades) is between 0.3 mm and 3.0 mm. For car structural steels thickness can be up to 8 mm.

Lines for high strength steel (HSS) and ultra-high strength steel (UHSS)
These lines boast a specific configuration for processing materials up to 1800 MPa: they are typically used for the production of blades for grass cutting machines and lawn mowers.

Lines for heavy gauge steels (up to 20 mm)
These slitting lines require special feeding, cutting, handling, rewinding and unloading devices. They are perfect for the manufacture of cranes, lifting equipment, poles for wind turbines and, more generally speaking, for structural engineering applications.

Lines for magnetic and pre-painted steel sheets
These solutions are dedicated to the unwinding, cutting, braking, and rewinding of magnetic and pre-painted steel sheets. They preserve the integrity of both the internal structure and the surface.

Lines for stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys
Cutting solutions that include devices specifically designed for the typical properties of stainless steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. The strip tension is applied with high accuracy downstream of the decoiler. The slitting shear is equipped with automatic changeover of the slitting set-up or automatic change of the slitting head.

Coil inspection, trimming and repairing lines
High-speed lines designed to provide very high productivity: speeds up to 400 m/min for about 400 000 tons/year. They are equipped with very special devices, such as thickness gauge, inspection cabins for surface QC, high-speed rotary shear, scrap shredder, belt wrapper, as well as automatic strapping, weighing and labeling system.

Each slitting line can be equipped with complementary devices, robots for slitting tooling and separator shafts, oiling machines and many other options.
