Posco-ITPC S.p.A. chooses Rizzi to automate packaging operations

Rizzi, a new entry on expometals.net, was recently commissioned a massive order for the South Korean global steel giant Posco. The Italy-based company developed a cold-rolled stainless steel strip packaging and stacking line for the Posco-ITPC S.p.A. service center in Europe, which is based in Northern Italy (province of Verona).

Operational since October 2022, this strip packaging line has been designed and manufactured to operate together with two slitters (one pre-existing and a new one), and to be positioned in-between the two machines.
The automatic system can perform operations such as automatic extraction of the material from the slitting lines, subsequent tilting onto the line, insertion of woods and angles, stacking up to 5 levels, and subsequent extraction and strapping operations of the formed package. The line came into operation in conjunction with the achievement of a new milestone of 300,000 tons of product sold for the facility in Verona, which further attests the central role played by automation in the sheet metal and coil strip manufacturing.

Rizzi will debut at the sheet metal working industry exhibition EuroBLECH in Hanover, slated for October 25-28.
