Rizzi: packaging of slit coils holds no more secrets

Rizzi S.r.l., a company with over 40 years of experience in the stacking and packaging of sheet metal and slit-coil, recently delivered a new automatic packaging system for slit coils.

The production line, which has just entered full operation, perfectly showcases Rizzi's expertise in developing customized solutions in the field of automatic sheet metal packaging: the Italy-based company can design proposals tailored to the specific needs of small and medium-sized service centers.



The plant was recently installed at an esteemed customer in Northern Italy and is designed for versatile use, as it can process a wide range of materials, including cold-rolled carbon steels, galvanized steels, grain-oriented and non-grain-oriented magnetic steels, as well as non-magnetic materials.

The extraction of the strip coils from the slitter's unloading carousel is fully automated through a hydraulic tipper; that allows for the subsequent feeding of the strip coils into an automatic radial strapping station. The individual sub-coils are then stacked using a hydraulic clamp onto pallets in the six discharge bays prepared on the downstream rotating carousel of the system. The entire system is interconnected with the company's ERP system, following a 4.0 approach, enabling complete traceability of the packages being formed and their entry into the warehouse.
