The plant will complement two existing packaging lines that have been in operation for several years at L.M. Laminati Metallici SpA, a global leader in the cutting and marketing of flat products in the super-thin (0.10-0.50 mm) and narrow widths (up to 4 mm) segments. The new line, specifically designed to maximize cycle times and available space, perfectly reflects Rizzi's expertise in designing customized sheet metal packaging systems tailored to the specific needs of service centers.

Technical features of the new sheet metal packaging line

Scheduled for launch in autumn 2024, the new plant will allow for 360° operation, capable of processing a wide range of materials, including cold-rolled carbon steels, coated steels, and non-magnetic materials. The extraction of the strips from the slitter unloading carousel will be fully automated by means of a hydraulic tilter and will allow for their subsequent transfer to an automatic radial strapping station. The individual slit coils will then be stacked by hydraulic clamps on pallets on the six unloading bays located on the rotating carousel downstream of the system. Automatic extraction of the palletized packages will also allow for their subsequent packaging and strapping at the end of the line. The entire system will finally be interconnected to the company's ERPs with a 4.0 integration featuring complete tracking of the packages being formed and entering the warehouse.
