Planetary cage stranders for back twist stranding, cabling or armouring

The rope and cable machines specialist Stolberger manufactures and sells planetary cage stranders for back twist stranding, cabling or armouring.

Bobbin size range: 400 to 2000 mm flange diameter.
Number of bobbins per cage: 6 - 12 - 18 - 24 - 30 - 36 - 42 - 48 - 54.

Cage construction
The rotor cage consists of a central tube on which yoke rings and brake disc are fixed. Six (6) cradles are installed per rotor section. The KRD type cage is supported by spherical roller bearings mounted in supporting frames at each end of the cage. The KTD type cage is supported in sets of Gesadur under-roller units.

Cage drive
Each stranding cage is driven by a AC motor, connected with a cage gearbox. As an option the strander can be provided with an automatic speed acceleration control system.

Planetary motion
It's achieved either by crank gear or planetary gears. Alternatively and for individual adjustable variable backtwist via electro drive.

Bobbin braking
By a pneumatic/electrically controlled brake system with brake sheave and rope. The wire tension is kept constant from full to empty bobbin. Alternatively and according the specific application by AC electro drive.

Several options are available as per customer request.
