Production of splined components, the Evirt PLANAR™ thread rolling machines

Production of splined components, the Evirt PLANAR™ thread rolling machines

Evirt PLANAR™ is the most flexible smart rolling machine series from Evirt Italia. Equipped with two independent moving slides, this line is perfect for thread rolling, knurling and profiling. But its main field of application is the production of splined components (including small gears) and worm screws, as well as the manufacture of ball screws. In this regard, PLANAR™ rolling machines are able to produce 100% class C3 ball screws in various materials, including HRC 32.

Another innovation introduced by the PLANAR™ series is the rolling of splines using circular dies.

Thanks to the complete independence between the two thrusting heads, Evirt PLANAR™ rolling machines can be used for both symmetrical and asymmetrical thrusting operations.

The machine adapts perfectly to any loading and feeding system, without the need to displace the loader when changing component geometries.

The PLANAR™ model has been developed to allow fast and precise infeed and through feed machining operations and can be equipped with two different spindle management configurations:

- SYNCHRO version: each spindle is directly connected to a Brushless motor through a high-torque planetary gearbox;
- GEAR version: all spindles are managed as a group through a single transmission driven by an asynchronous frequency-controlled motor (Siemens INVERTER).
