A word with Saspi’s PM, Mikel Zaldua: all about initiatives and showrooms worldwide

Saspi’s busy year isn’t over yet! The Basque-based company, known for its fastener manufacturing machines, has many interesting insights about its facilities abroad and past and upcoming initiatives.

We asked Mr. Mikel Zaldua, Saspi’s Project Manager, to share the company’s outcome of 2024’s first half. Dive into this interview about fairs, global presence, and plans of this renowned manufacturer.

This year is packed with events: how many have you already attended?

This year we have participated in the wire show in Düsseldorf, our main global show. We’ll also exhibit at the International Fastener Show in Las Vegas in September. Additionally, on June 4, 5, and 6 we co-organized with Regg Inspection the Tech Week event at its facility in Wixom, Michigan, which hosted several machine manufacturers and companies in the industry.

Can you tell us more about the latest event, the Tech Week?

We held this 3-day Tech Week to showcase our latest technology and updates to local companies. Before the event, we organized customer visits to optimize everyone's time. The facility featured numerous displays of the latest technologies and some physical machines for hands-on experience.

What were your expectations for the event, and were you satisfied with it?

As our first time organizing or attending such an event, our main goal was to learn and assess its potential. We were very satisfied with the outcome and are already planning similar future events.

Let's talk about Saspi's global presence; how extensive is it?

Saspi has a vast global presence, with machines on every continent and over 90% of our sales abroad. Despite being a small company, our technical department excels in supporting customers worldwide. Recognizing the importance of local facilities and services, we have established tech centers in California and Shanghai, two of our largest markets.

Are you planning to open more showrooms soon? If so, where?

At the moment, we don't plan to open more Saspi’s showrooms worldwide, but we are open to collaborating with others.
