Tecnopress: SCFI/I mobile induction heating unit with two power outputs
Tecnopress, a company operating in the wire processing industry, manufactures a wide range of servo-devices for heading machines, also offering overhauls and revamping services on request.
The company is pleased to present its SCF/I mobile inductor, which is designed to heat the metal wire up to 400°C (subject to the wire's sliding speed) in order to improve malleability during the cold forming processes of stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
In detail, the induction process increases the plasticity of the material, reducing the forces required for its deformation. The wire - thus preheated - is then formed to manufacture multiple types of fasteners.
The device is equipped with two pyrometers: the first is positioned after the heating coil, while the second can be placed, through a magnet (or else), on the heading machine next to the cutting unit, highlighting the actual temperature of the material to be processed. It’s worth mentioning that the machine automatically shuts down, should the temperature exceed 400 C°.
Here are the main features:
- bent steel sheet frame;
- pivoting wheels for easy handling;
- automatic regulation of wire height during the feeding phase;
- heating spiral;
- inbound wire straightener for an accurate alignment of the wire with the forming machine;
- can be electrically connected to the cold header for the integrated management of wire temperature.
The mobile induction heating units for wire are available with two different power outputs.
Inductor 30 kW:
- workable wire diameter between 4 and 20 mm;
- voltage 400 V;
- current 23 A.
Inductor 15 kW:
- workable wire diameter between 3 and 12;
- voltage from 400 Vac +/- 10%;
- current 23 A.
When designing the SCF/I mobile reheating unit, Tecnopress went the extra mile to make sure the devices are extremely practical and compact. The 30 kW model measures 850 x 1440 x 2000 cm with a weight of just 250 kg, while the 15 kW model is slightly smaller with a size of 700 x 1000 x 2000 cm.
