New water-cooled grinding machine H120.1: a winning combination of power and technology

OMD Officina Meccanica Domaso S.p.A. presents the new H120.1 water-cooled grinding machine: a winning combination of technology, efficiency, and quality.

Equipped with a grinding wheel of 1200 mm diameter, the H120.1 is designed for grinding springs with wire diameter up to 70 mm, external diameter 530 mm and length 1300 mm.

The following technological solutions stand out:

- clamp inclination adjustment for the correction of the spring geometry;
- automatic feed of the grinding wheel;
- automatic dressing operation;
- variation of the grinding wheel rotation speed;
- automatic grinding wheel wear control and compensation;
- system for wheel change;
- automatic operator protections.

The hardware components with EtherCAT fieldbus type allow for quickly data transmission and (in case of network connection) remote assistance of any machine failures or anomalies. Thanks to the simple UI and colored touch-screen monitor, the machine can be easily operated even by inexperienced workers. The UI also allows to set up special programs with custom pressure and grinding speed variation, pauses, and dressing.

The materials and components have been carefully selected to ensure top-class performances and reliability over time, especially considering the harsh working environment in which this type of machine operates.
