OMD’s MA20 grinding machine captivates the public

OMD’s new MA20 grinding machine, the largest in its range, is achieving great success. At wire 2024 - the international fair dedicated to wire and wire products where it was presented - it received much appreciation from visitors.

MA20: high performance and energy savings

The MA20 is designed for dry grinding of springs with diameters up to 27 mm, a maximum external diameter of 300 mm, and lengths up to 700 mm. The machine is equipped with two vertically opposed spindles that allow simultaneous grinding of both spring ends, doubling productivity compared to traditional solutions.

It stands out for its high performance and the EXTRA cooling system that simultaneously cools springs, spindle motors, abrasive covering, grinding chamber, and spring sliding plane, significantly reducing heat generation and increasing energy efficiency.

A successful edition

In addition to this new machine, OMD presented several new features and organized various initiatives at its booth, including live demonstrations and customer meetings, drawing great interest.

"We are very satisfied with the results achieved at wire 2024," said OMD President Gabriella Kunz. "There were many visitors from all over the world, not just from Europe, even from Australia," continued Gabriella Kunz. "Talking with other exhibitors, we wondered if it was still worth participating in the event, as costs are becoming increasingly burdensome without offering more services. In hindsight, I can say that we still find wire interesting, especially this year, when we managed to make sales directly at the booth, something that hasn't happened for several editions."
