Bossi to step into the automotive industry: new sheet metal brushing machine

Not just pipe but also sheet metal

For over fifty years, metal surface finishing machines have been the flagship of Bossi Srl, which, thanks to its continuous drive for excellence, has established itself in the global market. Bossi’s expertise in grinding, satin finishing, polishing, and deburring of pipes and sheet metal is already well known, and the company is now expanding its reach into new markets, including the automotive industry.

The new flat surface brushing machine SPP 300/3000/2U-1100 SPECIAL has been designed by Bossi to achieve the final scotch-brite or fine satin finish on 0.5 mm thick aluminum sheets through dry processing.

This machine, equipped with state-of-the-art Siemens PLC-S7 technology, can be set and managed through a digital keyboard and an intuitive 15'' touchscreen panel. It also offers the possibility of remote troubleshooting, and can combine the parameters and special finishing in many different ways to meet specific processing needs.

Brushless motors drive the brush rotation (up to 3000 rpm) and also guide the advancement of the conveyor belt, oscillation, position, and working pressure control. The brush size (1100 mm), which can be used simultaneously or individually,  enables processing on sheets up to 1000 mm.

The conveyor belt stands out for its width (1200 mm) and anti-scratch material that, thanks to its shape, keeps the sheet metal stable during processing. Additionally, the three presses are strategically positioned at the entrance, between the two units, and at the exit, to further aid in maintaining the position of the sheet metal.

Bossi is also available to equip the sheet metal brushing machine with a specific dust extraction system.
