Elestar to install a new bright annealing furnace for stainless steel and duplex tubes

A new Elestar bright annealing furnace is about to be started on a tube mill commissioned by Olimpia 80, a well-known Italy-based manufacturer of complete lines for welded tubes. More specifically, the furnace is to be installed on a stainless steel and duplex tube production line with a laser welding system.

Induction heating technology is increasing in popularity in the laser tube welding field. This new plant, the second one requested by Olimpia 80 for the same customer, can perform the bright annealing of about 1,300 kg/h of tubes with diameters ranging from 8 to 38 mm and thicknesses from 0.5 to 3 mm. Control of the heating power and management of shielding gases is performed automatically through "Smart Annealing" software.
