Elestar to introduce new innovative solid-state welders for the tube & pipe industry

In the last period of time, Elestar has been busy designing a new solid-state system that exclusively uses power inverters based on the Mosfet SiC technology (silicon carbide transistors). This practical application represents a groundbreaking evolution in the sector that has surpassed the efficiency of vacuum generators and has proven to be much more robust than classic modular solid-state systems.

Enter the new WelderSiC-VF: a new Mosfet SiC system with variable frequency technology for tube and pipe manufacturers who need to produce a wide range of stainless steel products.
Two units of the new system with 350 and 450 kW power are already fully operational at the Marcegaglia Specialties’ plant in Forlì (Italy), successfully replacing two vacuum tube generators. The new welders have already demonstrated greater reliability, efficiency, and excellent welding quality on a wide range of materials, diameters, and thicknesses.

In addition to the commitment to the SiC Mosfet technology, Elestar has focused its efforts on improving the mechanical design, providing the customer with a compact welding system that is easy to install on existing tube mills. Last but not least, WelderSiC uses an intuitive supervision management system to simplify and optimize production changeover times.
