Marcegaglia chooses Elestar for stainless steel tube welding

Elestar recently won an order for two more induction welding generators featuring SiC Mosfet technology and variable frequency to be installed at the Forlimpopoli plant of Marcegaglia Specialties.

The excellent results obtained from the previous supply of two welding plants, respectively 450 and 300 kW, definitely convinced Marcegaglia's stainless steel division to replace two more triode generators with two Elestar SSW350FV systems with SiC Mosfet technology and variable frequency. The tube welding lines process stainless, austenitic, and ferritic steels, with tube diameters ranging from 30 to 76 mm and thicknesses ranging from 1 to 4 mm.
