New delivery for LE.DI.CA.: welding machine for thick-walled pipes

LE.DI.CA., a company known worldwide for its welding equipment and tube production lines, is about to deliver a new and innovative combined welding machine, which is ideal for the production of thick-walled tubes and pipes, mainly used for the construction of pipelines.

More specifically, the machinery features several innovations in order to perform both external and internal tube welding simultaneously.

External welding is carried out through a PLASMA-PLASMA-TIG tricathode torch with the addition of cold filler wire, taking advantage of Plasma KEY-HOLE Technology to weld tubes head to head up to 12.00 mm, eliminating incisions and removing any inclusions present in the weld bath. For internal welding, the system employs an ID TIG torch that allows welding the weld seam inside the tube with the addition of filler wire, increasing the width of the weld bead thanks to a magnetic arc oscillator. Thanks to the internal camera, it is possible to monitor the progress of the process.

This equipment is suitable for processing tubes and pipes in a range between 160 and 505 mm, and ASTM A358 CL-1, CL2, and CL5 tubes.
