A valuable collaboration between Officine MTM and the US-based Altex Tube LLC

Officine MTM Spa, the pioneering designer and manufacturer of complete lines for welded steel tubes and profiles manufacturing, is consolidating its presence in the United States by installing a new plant for Altex Tube LLC, a US-based black and pre-galvanized steel tube manufacturing company.

The $100 million project benefits from a partnership with Steel Dynamics that will provide the coils to produce top-quality profiles through an integrated supply-chain solution.

As a result of the collaboration with Altex, Officine MTM's top management attended the groundbreaking ceremony in the city of Columbus, MS, in mid-July. During the event, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves revealed his enthusiasm about the State's current economic situation and the new plant that will positively impact the entire Golden Triangle area in the coming years.

Zach Smith, Altex Tube LLC president and CEO, demonstrated the new tube production line supplied by MTM during an interview for the local TV news: “Our new mill, supplied by MTM Spa, uses the most innovative technologies available on the market for the production of black and pre-galvanized steel tubes up to diameters of 7,625 inches round and .375 inches thickness," said Mr. Smith, "and by mid-2023 we should already be operational."
