Ralc Italia introduces new feature to its steel rod production line for the railroad industry

Recently, Ralc introduced a new feature to the standard steel rod production line, that automatically attaches nuts onto the threaded rod ends. The process utilizes two hoppers positioned on either side of the line, which feed nuts to the automatic nut screwing units. Another dedicated unit ensures the nuts are properly attached. Additionally, a new nut making machine capable of producing the nut itself has also been incorporated into the line.

Rotosmart Cut

Ralc Italia's Rotosmart Cut further enhances the range of solutions for this sector. Rotosmart Cut combines the capabilities of a cutting machine and a machining center.


The material – in this case, the solid bar – is fed using standard loaders for sawing machines. However, thanks to a descending blade cutting head, it is possible to install a rotating table downstream that serves three machining stations. These stations can be equipped with tools for various operations. For the nut production line, the stations are equipped with drilling and thread rolling tools to match the pitch of the rod on which the nut will be screwed.
