Solid state welders - Mosweld SiC

EMMEDI was the first to pioneer the application of the revolutionary Mosweld SiC technology to HFI welders back in 2016.

Mosweld SiC is the ultimate solid-state power supply using the Silicon Carbide transistor technology and the natural evolution of the standard systems, using traditional Mosfet and IGBT semiconductors. It allows HFI power supplies output at higher frequency, which is vital for continuous in-line longitudinal welding of pipes and tubes.

The system is incredibly efficient and compact. Just to put this fantastic advancement into perspective: whereas a typical HFI welder equipped with the traditional SiC Mosfet semiconductors would require 64 devices for each 100 KW in output power rating, a new-generation welder with SiC semiconductors can accomplish the same output with only 4 devices.
