The wire drawing process with Violi Srl
Drawing is a metalworking process used for the continuous production of wires, tubes, and bars with a round section or complex profile with 3 or more sides which dates back to the 11th century. Since then, continuous developments have led to the progressive overcoming of the dimensional limits.
For an optimal wire drawing process – with a good surface and dimensional accuracy – the technology to be used must be selected carefully.
VM/12PE is an electronic multi-pass wire drawing machine designed to process ø2 mm to ø0.07 mm wires. The machine can reach a working speed of 300 m/min. The movement is handled by a three-phase AC motor with a high-efficiency gear transmission driving a steel tempered wire carrier with 12 gorges. The wire is constantly tensioned through an electronic clutch, which also manages the system start-up. The die-holders are designed to ensure the perfect alignment with the wire feeding hole. Process data such as drawing speed, wire carrier torque/speed, and winder torque/speed are shown on the digital display. Foot pedal or continuous operation machine start up.
The VM/12PE wire drawing machine is also equipped with an electronic winder for constant torque reels. The machine can be equipped with 4.0 systems.
