CF Machinery: Graphite Applying Machine “DFG–1 GRAPHITIZER”. The new “Copper free” process for the production of CO2 Welding Wire.

A NEW GENERATION SYSTEM: “DFG-1 Graphitizer” has been designed and developed for the continuous application of graphite on steel wire through the addition of NOCOR 63 protection. “Graphitizer” works an up to date and green-oriented technology process. The machine allows the production of “copper free” wire, avoiding surface coppering. This means no more pollution. The new system does not leave any chemical residual: so no more toxic waste, acids or waters to be drained away.
“DFG-1 Graphitizer” works independentely from drawing machine to whom it is connected. As it is small sized, it needs only a little space to be placed, so the big coppering tank si avoided.

Graphitizing system can be applied on any kind of steel wire commonly used:
- CO2 welding
- metal staples
- binding systems for packaging. “DFG-1 Graphitizer” can be easily connected to any (wet or dry) wire drawing machine, but works independently and by any speed. Small sized, it needs only a little space to be placed in, so big coppering tank is avoided.   Objectives

“Graphitizer DFG-1” is placed into a stainless steel cabinet, so that the operator is provided with the best access to the equipment. Basic element consists of a stationary steel drum with horizontal axis. The emulsion (“mixture”) is dosed to the drum by means of a dosing pump situated in a plastic box within the equipment cabinet interior between the drum and the wiper. A 2 liter container of the graphite emulsion is situated on the cabinet rear side behind the drum.
Declaration of conformity is an integral part of the Technical attendant documentation. The graphite applicator works in complete safety conditions. Wire does not need any special cleaning process before graphitizing, but dry wire is recommended.

The Emulsion (“mixture”)
“DFG-1 graphitizer” works only by the use of specific fluid solution called “NOCOR 63”; it is the most suitable protection against steel wire corrosion. NOCOR 63 has been developed taking into consideration any kind of corrosion condition:
- Enviroment salinity
- Wet atmo
- Industrial atmo
- Acid atmo
- Ultra-violet radiations
but also considering all safety requirements in order to guarantee operators and enviroment health, avoiding coppering process.
