Assomac Machines Ltd: "Our expectations for wire India 2018"

Assomac Machines Ltd: "Our expectations for wire India 2018"

On November 27-29, the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai will host the 7th edition of wire India, organised by Messe Dusseldorf India Pvt. Ltd. We asked Nirmal Singh, Director at Assomac Machines Ltd., to provide his opinion about the company's participation in the trade show.

Which expectations do you have for the fair?
The forthcoming wire show in Mumbai is the largest one of this kind in India being held every 2nd year. This event is notably serving as one of India’s most prospective one-stop show for wire & cable industries not only for India but for Southeast-Asian countries as also for Middle East/African countries. Last time we had many visitors from these countries and received a good response. We expect a good response this year too and large footfalls for the show.

So you were satisfied with last edition...
Yes, we were satisfied with the last event, meeting the wire fraternity at a single stop. Plus adding to the knowledge of wire industry. Trends going internationality is added features for such events.

How has wire India evolved over time? You've been exhibiting for many years now.
It has indeed been a great experience for our organisation participating in different exhibitions. It is a two way advantage for us, firstly you get to see the latest technology in the wire industry in such events and also the new products entering into the market. Secondly you meet your prospective customers at such fairs. Assomac’s endeavour has always been to give the latest technology to its customers. During the last more than three decades plus we are in the wire industry and we have seen the technology changing at a fast pace. India is now a global manufacturing hub, and wire industry is no exception. Even Indian customers are focussing on quality machines at a competitive price. Our machines come with the latest technology, at par with European standards. We are now regularly exporting them, getting orders from developed countries too.

How is the business climate in India (and neighbouring countries)?
Our country is striving for “Make in India”, the Government is focussed on skilled development and is keen to make this country a global manufacturing hub. Adoption of technology to international standards, to be competitive and with vast infrastructure development taking place in the country, we feel there is going to be huge capital investment for the wire industry too. We feel India will continue to be a key growth market over the next several years to come. The past pace of development projects in India has a positive impact on neighbouring countries and there is positive enthusiasm with them.
Which other fairs do you attend as exhibitors?
We normally participate in specialised fairs focussed on our industry. But as you know wire is a core industry for the development of any type of industry, viewing this we do participate in engineering specific fairs also where there is consumption of wire and cable in large quantities.
But participating at wire Düsseldorf every alternate year is always a unique experience. It always turns out to be a fulfilling experience where we get to meet the customers from across the globe. New customers and contacts are always added. This show is always a learning experience for us in many ways and our all-time favourite to participate.
