Danieli: imphy alloys (Arcelor Mittal) new large diameter bar peeling plant order.
Imphy Alloys (France), part of the ArcelorMittal group, have purchased a new advanced peeling plant from Centro Maskin, the cold finishing division of the Danieli group. The plant will process Nickel alloy bars of diameters up to 320 mm, making it one of the very few plants in the Europe with these capabilities. A unique feature of the peeling machine is that burnishing rolls set into the machine head after the cutting tools ensure an excellent surface roughness down to 0.2 microns Ra. This enables the surface defect free, finished bars to be used for very demanding applications such as for feeding into an extrusion press for the manufacture of large diameter seamless tubes.
Utilising Danieli’s extensive experience of equipment installation world-wide, the plant will be supplied on a turn key basis and is expected to come into operation in the year 2009.
