FUHR and MAG join forces, integrated lines for rectangular enameled wire
Over the last few years, the EV (electric vehicle) market has skyrocketed. The need for copper wire has been growing accordingly, as the typical electric engine requires approximately three times more copper than an internal combustion one.
However, electric cars are just one of the drivers of this field: charging points, additional power networks, and connectors (in one word, infrastructure) are also playing a significant role. The majority of EV motors requires enameled copper wire—a rather popular product within the market. However, manufacturers need to step up their game to keep pace with the zero failure and high volume requirements of this field. The ideal solution to this problem is inline forming, which prevents the wire from being scratched during winding and unwinding operations: enter the new collaboration between FUHR and MAG.
Respectively experts of premium rolling mills and cutting-edge machinery for enameled wire, the two companies join forces to provide their customers all over the world with all-in-one solutions for the EV market. The integration of the well-known FUHR IPU into MAG’s enameling lines will enable the manufacturers to produce enameled rectangular wire directly from round wire.
