New automated packaging robot for wire laying machine
Lämneå Bruk concentrates its newest machine developments increasingly on automation in order to enhance the user-friendliness and safety of their machine to the convenience of their worldwide customers. Recently, the Swedish wire machinery manufacturer has launched an automated packaging robot application as optional add-on application to the Fully Automatic Precision Layer Winder (FA-PLW).
The machine combines speed, precise wire laying to a 100th of a millimetre and fully automatic spool exchange with servo-drive motor operated toolings for continuous production at top speeds of 35m per seconds. It is suitable for 1kg, 5kg, 15kg and 30kg spools of different material.
The newest addition, the packaging robot, will significantly ease the packaging process of finished spools. A robot checks the total weight of the finished spools that the FA-PLW has spooled thoroughly. Should there be any discrepancies, the robot will put the spool aside to get double checked by the staff and continues with the next spool for an uninterrupted process. If everything is in accordance with the pre-determined weight and quality standards, the automatic packaging robot moves the finished spools onto pallets, where they can be labelled and packed for shipping.
