Niehoff invests €15.5 million to expand its facilities
Maschinenfabrik Niehoff, the global leader in machinery for the wire and cable industry, is scaling up production in Germany to meet rising demand. Construction has commenced at its main plant in Schwabach and its branch in Leuterschach with two recent ceremonies.
Expansion at Schwabach and Leuterschach facilities
The Schwabach facility will gain two new halls—a manufacturing hall and a logistics hall—scheduled for completion by August 2025. Like the existing buildings, these halls will feature rooftop photovoltaic systems and geothermal energy for heating and cooling.
In Leuterschach, Niehoff has acquired an additional 3,500 m² of premises, allowing for the construction of a new hall and expanded outdoor areas, adding 1,700 m² for storage, assembly, and testing. This facility will also integrate photovoltaic and geothermal energy.
The projects, representing a €15.5 million investment, reflect the family-owned company’s commitment to reinvesting profits in sustainable, advanced production. Since 2021, both Schwabach and Leuterschach facilities have been powered by 100% CO2-free hydropower.
