Using Niehoff's bunching technology and machines for copper alloy wires

Using Niehoff's bunching technology and machines for copper alloy wires

The automotive industry has an increasing demand for cables, especially fine wires made of copper alloys are more and more in demand for reasons of space and weight. Such fine wires can be reliably and economically drawn on multiwire drawing lines of the MMH series by Niehoff and processed into strands for automotive wires on double twist bunching machines such as the types D 562 and D 632. Details are described in an article entitled “Bunching technology for copper alloy wires” which can be found on the latest issue of the customer magazine ”NIEHOFF Magazine“.

The main contribution of the magazine focuses on field experiences with the Niehoff Digital Assistant+ made by the special cable manufacturer Helukabel, Germany. The Niehoff Digital Assistant+ is an irreplaceable tool to increase the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of Niehoff machines.

Outstanding events for the wire and cable industry in the second half of 2019 were the trade fairs wire Southeast Asia 2019 and wire South America 2019. Two contributions of NEHOFF magazine deal with Southeast Asia and South America where the demand for electric power and thus for products of the wire and cable industry is growing. For decades, Niehoff has been active now on both markets with its subsidiaries Niehoff Singapore Pte. Ltd and Niehoff-Herborn Máquinas Ltda. (NHM). With the foundation of NHM in 1975 Maschinenfabrik NIEHOFF started its international expansion.
The NIEHOFF magazine explains also the Niehoff exhibits shown at the wire Southeast Asia and wire South America trade fairs.

Furthermore, this issue of NIEHOFF Magazine includes two interviews. In the first one, Mr. Tang Yougang, Chairman of the Board von Jiangsu Xinhai High-Conductivity New Materials, a major Chinese manufacturer of bare and tinned copper wires, comments on trends in copper conductors for the automotive industry and the impact on manufacturing technology. In the other interview, Marcelo Barone, Managing Director of the Brazilian cable manufacturer SIL Fios e Cabos Elétricos, outlines challenges faced by cable manufacturers in Brazil, success criteria and the use of modern techniques such as digitization.

Biannually the “NIEHOFF Magazine” informs its readers about company news and developments, trade shows and events and other interesting topics. The magazine, published in English and German with some of the articles and summaries in Chinese and Russian, is available at the Niehoff headquarters in Germany, all Niehoff subsidiaries and service offices worldwide, and also on the Niehoff website: www.niehoff.de.
